Important information about sheet metal processing

Which areas we cover with our sheet metal processing and services:

Our catchment area covers the entire Stuttgart area, the Black Forest and neighboring regions. We supply customers in Stuttgart, Pforzheim, Freudenstadt, Calw and the surrounding area. Thanks to our location in Glatten, we are conveniently located and guarantee short delivery times for sheet metal processing.

What tolerance standards do we manufacture according to?

Our sheet metal processing is carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO 2768 for general tolerances. In case of increased requirements, we manufacture according to individual drawing specifications. Through CNC sheet metal processing, we achieve accuracies in the tenth range.

Which file formats are required for construction?

We process common CAD formats such as DXF and STEP. For simple projects, PDF drawings are also sufficient. Our engineering team will be happy to advise you on optimal data preparation.

Our range of services

Design & planning: Development of sheet metal components (CAD/CAM)

At SMK Meister, every successful project starts with professional design and planning. Our experienced engineering team develops your sheet metal assemblies using the latest CAD/CAM software and over 50 years of industry experience. We systematically optimize your designs for production-appropriate solutions and provide you with competent advice on the choice of materials and processes. Right from the planning phase, we take into account all aspects of subsequent sheet metal processing — from laser cutting to bending to final assembly. Through this holistic approach, we avoid costly changes in later project phases.

Laser cutting: Large-format precision cutting

Our laser cutting is carried out on ultra-modern Trumpf laser cutting systems, which are among the most powerful systems on the market. We cut sheets up to an impressive size of 3000 x 1500 mm — in steel up to 25 mm, stainless steel up to 20 mm and aluminum up to 12 mm thick. The subsequent deburring of the laser-cut metal ensures burr-free edges, maximum dimensional accuracy and minimal tolerances. Contactless processing causes no mechanical stress, meaning that even sensitive materials are processed precisely. We create complex contours and fine details without tool costs and with short processing times.

Punching & forming: Including deep drawing, signing and roll deburring for the Stuttgart & Black Forest area

When it comes to punching, we use powerful CNC punching machines with cutting-edge tool technology. This manufacturing method is ideal for series production and enables extremely short cycle times with maximum repeatability. In addition to classic punching processes such as punching, cutting and notching, we offer you a comprehensive range of forming technologies. Deep drawing enables complex three-dimensional shaped parts made of flat sheet metal, while signing for permanent markings is carried out directly in the punching process. During roll deburring, we remove punched edges without burrs and round edges — important for safety and further processing.

Bending (folding): CNC-controlled edging technology up to 3000 mm

Our CNC sheet metal processing in the area of bending and folding is carried out on the most modern folding presses with edge lengths of up to 3000 mm and material thicknesses of up to 8 mm. When bending sheet metal, we achieve maximum repeatability thanks to fully automatic, program-controlled backstops and angle measurement systems. Each bend is carried out with precision in the range of tenths of a degree — a prerequisite for custom-fit assemblies. From simple 90-degree angles to complex polygonal profiles, we produce precisely and economically.

Welding: Certified processes (MIG/MAG/WIG), spot welding & laser welding

At SMK Meister, all welding work is carried out in accordance with the highest quality standards and DIN standards. We are proficient in all common welding processes for professional sheet metal processing: MIG welding for aluminum, MAG welding for steel and high-precision TIG welding for sophisticated stainless steel connections. Our certified welders have many years of experience and regular continuing education. Our range of services includes welding work on steel, stainless steel and aluminum in all common alloys — from delicate structures to solid steel assemblies.

Finish & surface: Deburring, sanding and coating

After the actual sheet metal processing, we finish your components with professional surface treatment. Deburring all sharp edges is not only important for safety reasons, but also essential for functionality and further processing. We remove burrs mechanically using a special grinding machine — depending on the component geometry and requirements. Our modern powder coating systems provide high-quality coatings up to 3000 mm in length in all RAL shades with excellent corrosion protection. In addition to powder coating, we coordinate other surface treatments through qualified partners: galvanic galvanization, electropolishing or anodizing aluminum.

Assembly: Completion with purchased parts (rivets, screws, etc.)

As a system supplier, we at SMK Meister take care of the complete assembly of the components. After sheet metal processing, laser cutting and all forming processes, we assemble your components into functional components. We procure all required purchased parts: rivets, screws, nuts, washers, fasteners, seals and all other components. Through long-standing partnerships with suppliers, we ensure optimal prices and availability. The benefits are obvious: You receive finished, tested components immediately ready for use and save on your own assembly costs and the coordination of various suppliers.
